An Interesting book, filled with mystery and riddles

Nov 13, 2017

Everyone in our family enjoyed this book. It is another great installment in the Redwall series, complete with harrowing quests, brave warriors, singing, feasting, and characters with big personalities.

Some particularly interesting characters in the book include a seal king, an army of monitor lizards, a pine marten who hypnotizes his minions, and an owl who constantly distributes questionable advice.

Do NOT read this book on an empty stomach. The food descriptions are heavenly. Wouldn't you love to sample a cake decorated with marchpane, cream, flaked almonds, candied angelica leaves, preserved damsons and pink rose petals? And how would you like to attend a cheese tasting that includes: yellow cheese with chestnuts and celery, white cheese with hazelnuts, pale gold cheese with chives & apples, and cream cheese with almonds? Yum, yum, yum.
