Tour-de-force performances by
Patrick Wilson & the rest of the cast.
Al Pacino was EXCELLENT as the MEAN Roy Cohn (with his conscious "whipping his arse", played by the MAGNIFICENT, Meryl Streep, as Ethel Rosenberg; who was wrongly accused of treason in 1951). Her recital of the Kaddish was remarkable.
I never saw the B'way play, but judging by this film, Tony Kushner's awards were well-deserved. This is not just great theater; it's a great work of modern history.
Emma Thompson? Al Pacino? Glenn Close? How could you not love it? Edgy fanatsy-realism.
