This book is even better from the first one. After reading this, first book looks like it was just to build up the story. You will love this!

Meh. Continues the story, but Sophie and Josh play a small role (besides beibg kidnapped and being manipulated by other characters in the book. Lots of new mythological gods, but really just a bridge between books 3 and 4. Not bad, just meh.

Getting better. I gave this book the same rating as The Alchemyst, but I liked this one a little better than the first book, especially toward the end. Lots of fighting action, new villains and heroes, and Perenelle *finally* is part of the plot/action instead of just sitting in a cell looking at the ceiling. The only real bad part of this book was Flamel. In this book he is whiny, mostly ineffective, tired, and pretty much a by-stander for much of the story. Kind of disappointing since he is one of the main characters.

Great book, better read the first book; the Alchemyst to fully understand it! This is a series all the way to book 6; The Enchantress.

As the second book in the series, Michael Scott's skill grows along with the books. While the first one was set more for a teenage audience, The Magician shows a more complicated story. Very action packed, I did not want to put it down. I am now looking forward to the rest of the series even more.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that Mars was included!! Pretty good book all-in-all, though some parts seemed a bit juvinile. and he completely ruined Nidhogg. DO MORE RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked this one better than the first.
