Summer, 1584. A young woman from Bruno's past comes to Bruno for help after being accused of murdering her husband, a prominent magistrate in Canterbury. But when Bruno arrives in Canterbury, he has no idea of the dark secrets he's about to uncover. He must turn his detective's eye on history-- on Saint Thomas Becket, the twelfth-century archbishop murdered in Canterbury Cathedral, and on the legend surrounding the disappearance of his body-- in order to solve the crime.

Fast paced historical mystery full of suspense that takes place in the 16th century. We only have the book, however can try to find the audiobook through interlibrary loan.

What a great series, I've enjoyed every book so far and this one was a good read too. With interesting main and supporting characters, plot, setting, what more do you need. I look forward to the next one.

Wonderful period writing, but much too slow in pace.
