Surfing - past, present, and future. Covers many personalities and explores the history of surfing to present day big wave tow-in surfing. The focus is almost entirely Hawai`i & California. There are many big wave locations not included on this DVD, but it's unnecessary as the focus is on the evolution of the surfing culture. Ever wonder who surfed mavericks solo for 15 years? Find out...
This a great documentary for those who do not like documentaries. By that it is not the stereo typical and boring movie about an interesting subject. Peralta has done it again, this time with surfing. If you are someone who wanted to learn about surfing or about why people do it, this is a movie to watch. This is a doc that not only teaches you something but makes it massively interesting. Also if you like it I recommend Dogtown and the Z boys, it is the same awesome story telling done by the same director and editing group.
Especially good to watch in the winter.
