This author is overboard. Her tales of trying to live sustainably with minimum food waste to the extreme of asking for the bones from another restaurant diner's plate gave me pause. I persevered to the recipes and found some were OK but others either called for ingredients that might not be readily available or even appealing. Some seemed to be fairly time consuming.

Fun layout with a great deal of information. Lots of recipes using whole foods and clean ingredients and ideas for those wishing to cut back on their overall food waste.
The "treats" section is very small in this book (for good reason) and the recipes contain brown rice syrup which of course, is still sugar, natural sugar, but still sugar. Studies suggest not using brown rice syrup due to both being VERY high on the glycemic index and due to the trace amounts of arsenic found in rice. This could easily be substituted for another natural sweetener, but if you're looking to avoid even natural sweeteners, you won't find any recipes for those "treats" in this book, nor will you find a plan of action to help you become sugar free.

A lot of expensive ingredients, no nutritional information, syrup and artificial sweeteners, and time consuming recipes. Nothing I tried tasted very good.
