Warble is a small yellow warbler who lives on the beautiful island of Icyland, where he pursues his hobby of human watching. But on a warm day, a deep fog rolls in and obscures his view. The rest of the birds don't seem to notice the fog or the other changes Warble observes on the island.

This book took a wrong turn, unfortunately, in the story line. I think it could have emphasized more of what we all need to do to save the planet. It is like it fell off a cliff, the story line (that is) and couldn't be salvaged. The artwork is lovely.

The Fog by Kyo Maclear is gorgeous story with even more gorgeous artwork to accompany it. It's also a parable about working together as a community, small or large. I recommend you read it with your kids.

I like that the story is told from the bird's point of view. The illustrations are a great mix of beautiful backgrounds and funny characters.
