I have read all of the Narnia books and I can say this portion of the series was a definite let down. I know they are for kids, but the story behind this one was depressing (the horse and the boy are slaves) and boring (it takes place in a desert). C.S. Lewis could have made traveling through the desert much more exciting by putting in monsters, but he chose to just talk about the weather. Lame. Bree, the horse, is too bossy and Shasta, the boy, is underdeveloped and stereotypical. Shasta's "surprise" character twist isn't exciting and can be figured out the second he meets the high Kings (honeslty, I didn't ruin anything there.) Skip to Prince Caspian or The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Don't waste your time on this one.
