I found it quite good when I first watched it. After multiple viewings, its imperfections start to show, but all flaws aside, I appreciate its message about racism in L.A.. It's expertly written and I enjoy interconnected plots in film narrative, so that's definitely a plus as characters weave together superbly in this Oscar winner. It was a surprise Academy Award win, though, so it's understandable that some people aren't too comfortable with it and, considering its motif, I can understand why lots of people disagree with it. The language of diversity can be very delicate, but I think it handled the multiple facets of its theme well and tried to explore all the different worlds in which it lies in one particular Californian city. I would recommend it with some hesitance, as each audience may see something different. If it provokes unbecoming thoughts, it may not be the best choice, so pay heed to your audience!
