Absolutely beautifully remastered silent picture in the Criterion Collection looks amazing even in today's standards. The film itself is quite funny. The Kid Brother (1927) is my personal favorite of Harold Lloyd's pictures. Look for Jocko the Monkey in the third act - he steals the show. Remember that silent films required actors to communicate mainly through facial expression; there's a particular scene that Lloyd climbs a tree to speak to his love interest that warms the heart (you'll know what I mean). If you've never watched a silent film, start with this one followed by Lloyd's Speedy (1928) and Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times (1936), The Circus (1928), ) and The Kid (1921). Alas, only Modern Times and The Kid is available through OPL's downloadable service Kanopy.
