Well-produced with a strong female character who strategizes her way out of a life-or-death situation when she winds up stranded in a very angry shark's territory, just a couple hundred yards from safety. Blake Lively does a good job portraying a grief-stricken daughter who visits her mom's "special beach" to find solace, solitude, and surfing. There's also a uniquely American take on traveling alone, holding your own, and trusting the people you meet. The ever-present connectivity of technology has its plusses and minuses, including Google's silly substitution for some Spanish translations.
